About Bayfield County Coffee Company

Bayfield County Coffee was established in July 2002. Our marketing and distribution consisted of us going to local events and participating in Bayfield’s Apple Festival. In just a few months we went from selling coffee beans out of a pop-up tent to our store front at 39 S. Broad Street where we opened in December of 2002. Given the unpredictable weather on Lake Superior, we feel blessed every day that we have such a “sturdy” and beautiful location to call home.

We feature a delicious gourmet variety of light, medium, and dark roast coffee. When deciding on what coffee to carry, we decided that only the best coffee in the industry would do. We are so fussy about our coffee that 98% of what is grown does not meet our high standards! The majority of our coffee beans are shade grown and come from small family estates. We are committed to quality so you can expect a smooth and flavorful cup of coffee each and every time.

Unlike other coffee shops, we have beautifully packaged gourmet coffee to choose from. We offer over 30 varieties of Non-Flavored and Flavored coffee beans. If you have the opportunity to shop in our store, you may pick directly from one of our 24 bean bins. If you are not going to Bayfield we are happy to ship directly to your home. We are so confident that you will love our coffee that we offer a money back guarantee if you are not satisfied.

As of August 2007, Bayfield County Coffee was acquired by Mitch Haycock. Mitch will continue the proud coffee brewing tradition started by the Aasby's.

Our Store

We are not your run of the mill coffee house. You will find the areas best brewed coffee, lattes, cappuccinos and mochas. We also offer premium teas, hot chocolate, and soft drinks. If you are in the mood to try something new we have started to offer in 2005 blended ice coffee drinks, smoothies, and Bayfield’s only “Frozen Hot Chocolate”.

If you are looking to enjoy Bayfield County Coffee at home, you may select from more than 30 varieties of coffee beans to take with you or grind fresh in our shop. We also have a unique gift selection of gourmet foods, coffee accessories and other coffee related gifts. We have fun wall hangings and much more. We have some very interesting antique and historic artwork featuring Bayfield and Lake Superior.

Our atmosphere is cozy with three distinctive rooms to enjoy. You may order drinks and shop or just take a break and relax. We are proud that our shop is a place many call “home”.
